FAQ & Fun Facts

Q:  What areas do you service?

A:  We currently service the greater Chico area, but will service tanks in Butte County depending upon location and availability.

Q:  How long does an average service take?

A:  Usually about one hour, but for larger systems with issues it can be greater.

Q:  What sort of tanks do you service?

A:  We service fresh, brackish, marine, and pond systems.  I also can service vipariums and aquatic reptile tanks (I love turtles).

Q:  How quickly can a tank be setup and stocked with live stock?

A:  Most systems can be setup and stocked in 24-48 hours. However, there are exceptions to this, and we always recommend getting your biological filtration stable and set before adding to much at once.

Q:  Are salt water tanks difficult to keep?

A:  They don't have to be; a marine aquarium can be as simple or as complex as you

want them to be.  In general an aquarium system be it fresh or marine is more difficult to maintain as its complexity increases.  Keeping something small like a clown fish is much simpler than keeping a mixed reef with fish, shrimp, soft, and hard skeleton corals.

Q:  Are aquatic plants difficult to keep? Do they make maintaining your aquarium harder?

A:  Yes and no.  Fortunately, mostly no!  There are a wide range of true aquatic plants that will actually help to keep your aquarium cleaner and healthier between routine maintenance.  These plants are simple to keep and many don't even have to be planted into your gravel or preferred substrate.  The other side of that coin is: Plants that have high light and nutrient demands, and have faster growth rates.  Even these can be undemanding with the appropriate setup and proper planning.
